The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Functional Safety Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in automotive functional safety for Electric vehicles with a strong understanding of ISO 26262:18 and hands on experience in parts 2, 6 and 8 of the same. The candidate will be responsible for supporting and executing safety activities across the development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262:2018 requirements for automotive EV software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and support Functional Safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262:2018.
• Analyze and understand the safety goals, technical safety concept and Software safety requirements (SSR).
• Good understanding and hands on experience in Safety component development as per Part 6 of ISO26262:18.
• Work on Tool classification and qualification for various tools and custom scripts used in the project life cycle.
• Hands-on experience in ASPICE standards (SWE.1- SWE.6) and supporting processes as per ISO26262:18.
• Good understanding of the verification criteria for safety as per ISO26262:18.
• Good understanding and hands on experience in safety mechanisms and failsafe handling.
• Develop and maintain safety work products like:
  • Tool classification and qualification
  • Traceability reports
  • Safety requirements specifications
  • Safety case report

• Conduct safety analyses at software level
  • HAZOP and FMEA at software level
  • Root cause analysis with FTA
  • Impact Analysis and safety anomaly analysis.
• Collaborate with software developers and test engineers to ensure safety requirements are properly implemented and verified.
• Support safety verification and validation activities, including safety testing and confirmation measures
• Participate in safety audits, assessments, and customer technical reviews.
• Support preparation of Functional Safety Case and compliance documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Automotive Functional Safety with EV experience like energy management /BMS/e-power train systems.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262:2018 lifecycle, processes, and work products.
• Knowledge of HARA, FSC, TSC, FMEA/FMEDA, and FTA and HAZOP
• Working knowledge and understanding of MISRA C ruleset for safety and static code analysis.
• Understanding of automotive E/E architectures and embedded systems development.
• Familiarity with ASIL A/B/C/D safety requirements and safety mechanisms.
• Experience with requirements management and traceability tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CANFD, LIN, Flex Ray, or Automotive Ethernet.
• Hands-on experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, ASTREE, code beamer/ DOORS , Ansys Medini.
• Familiarity with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) processes.
• Exposure to cybersecurity standards such as ISO/SAE 21434.
• Understanding of model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience in software development with Embedded C
