As UPG (Upgrades) PSE (Packages and Systems Engineering) Systems Engineer, you will oversee system definition (P&ID) and process integration for all the Upgrades solutions related with the legacy products (Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors and Turboexpanders) required by the Baker Hughes Service organization, as well as for the new emerging Climate Technology Solutions.  
You will integrate new design with actual configuration at site, with the aim of efficiency and availability improvement and life extension of existing machines. You will cover all the milestones based on customers' contracts or foreseen by a new product development program: basic and detailed design development, verification phases, procurement goals, testing/validation accomplishments up to the site installation support. 

As a Lead System and Instrumentation Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Being in charge for the system design of auxiliaries for all the Upgrades solutions (such as lube oil, hydraulic oil, control oil, water cooling, fuel gas, liquid fuel, seal gas, ventilation, gas detection, fire protection systems…) in terms of process definition, items and instrumentation selections and installation 

  • Attending site surveys to define new supply and integrate it in existing plant; reverse engineering mind-set is necessary; 

  • Developing predictive system design through modeling and numerical automation (Matlab/Simulink, FlowMaster, Hysis) to foresee transient behaviors and define high level control logic; 

  • Executing the design, analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using engineering practices adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements. 

  • Interacting with multiple internal interfaces such as ITO Team, Project Engineering, Project Manager, Other disciplines’ Design Engineers, Testing cell, Procurement dept., Quality Org., Manufacturing dept. and Service business; 

  • Interacting with several external interfaces like Customers and Suppliers demonstrating teamwork attitudes to maximize proficiency; managing OPEX Spare Parts support process for Auxiliaries and Instrumentation items 

  • Providing technical leadership to activities related with the assigned project and coordinate/control the activities performed by external engineering; being also responsible for engineering hour’s budget management maximizing both internal/external productivity; 

  • Demonstrating inclusiveness, social conscience, inclination to sustain team members, ability to remain objective and stay tuned to immediate environment; 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent

  • Have experience in an Oil & Gas or energy-related engineering environment

  • Have knowledge of fluid systems and familiarity with computational simulation tools (e.g., Hysys, FlowMaster, Matlab/Simulink or similar)

  • Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities

  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English (Italian is an advantage)

  • Be able to work effectively across functions and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams

  • Show adaptability, openness to learning, and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Have familiarity with Six Sigma, Green Belt certification, or Root Cause Analysis methodologies as a plus

The initial pay range for this position will be PLN 166,400 To 228,800. There are no provisions of any collective agreement relating to pay which will be applied to this position.
