Junior Legal Counsel - Italy (m/f/x)

About the Role

Scalable Capital is one of Europe's leading digital banks, with more than one million clients and over €50 billion on the platform. We are expanding the legal function of our Italian branch in Milan, working closely with our established group legal team in Germany.

You would support the branch across the full range of its legal work: research on Italian banking and financial services regulation, drafting and maintenance of customer documentation, review of marketing material, and support on product launches and complaints. The role gives a lawyer with 2+ years in the banking and finance practice of a law firm broad in-house exposure and real responsibility early in their career, working directly with the Branch Managers and the group legal team.

Job Description

• Conduct legal and regulatory research on Italian banking and financial services law (TUB, TUF, Consumer Code, transparency and consumer protection rules) and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
• Support the drafting and maintenance of all legal documents signed by customers (terms and conditions, pre-contractual information, disclosures and disclaimers)
• Review marketing material and communications to ensure compliance with Italian legislation and supervisory guidance
• Support the handling of customer complaints and out-of-court dispute resolution procedures (ABF / ACF) on standard cases
• Support the review of contracts with external providers and partners
• Monitor new Italian and European legislation relevant to the branch and prepare impact assessments
• Support internal operational teams on day-to-day legal questions

• Holds a law degree 
• A solid grounding background within a top-tier law firm, ideally with a strong focus on banking and financial regulation.
• Solid knowledge of Italian financial services regulation, with familiarity with European frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, PSD2) considered a strong plus.
• Exceptional legal research and drafting skills, combined with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively across multiple workstreams, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• A genuine passion for fintech, innovation, and the retail investing landscape.
• Full professional fluency in both Italian and English.

Salary Range: €43,000 to €53,000 gross per year (RAL)

The final salary will be determined within this range based on your individual training, qualifications, and relevant professional experience.
