POSITION OVERVIEW
The Launch Validation Engineer III is responsible for leading the validation test planning and execution for launch programs and assisting in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of laboratory testing input and output requirements. They will lead the technical interface between Corporate Labs and launch personnel (Engineering, Program Management, and Quality). This position will be leveraged for new test and specification development.
Location: This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Identify and define customer Design and Process Validation requirements.
- Construct Program Engineering Development, Design Validation, HALT, and Process Validation test plans.
- Assure test schedules are kept up to date and timeliness of test completion.
- Work with launch teams and corporate labs personnel to ensure product and lab readiness for testing.
- Identify and arrange for special testing requirements (software, hardware, etc.) in preparation for new testing.
- Coordinate resolution of test lab failures by conducting regular reviews and ensuring appropriate action using GCS (Gentex Concern System).
- Support engineering and quality teams in discussion of specific validation issues with customers.
- Lead program specific reviews of test planning and testing status with laboratory personnel and launch teams.
- Responsible to establish and maintain metrics for Launch Validation Engineering group.
- Participate in lab continuous improvement activities and audits as required.
- Develop internal test specifications based on past test knowledge when required.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to foster skill development and promote a culture of learning and collaboration.

WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience in a lab environment, specifically lab and test planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detail/factual/accuracy minded.
- In-depth knowledge of testing procedures and emerging technologies.
- Ability to travel domestically.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
WHAT WILL HELP
- 8+ years of professional experience in a lab environment, specifically lab and test planning.
- Comfortable with leading in all aspects of test planning.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Act in a self-disciplined manner and balance workload responsibilities and prioritization of tasks.
- Demonstrate a team-oriented perspective.
- Experience leading in all aspects of the DVP&R.
- Willingness to own and resolve problems and be a strategic thinker and planner.
- Demonstration of excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication across multiple disciplines.
