Job description
Roseway Hospital is seeking Physicians to provide Locum coverage during a period of active recruitment.
Responsibilities
- assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.
- perform rapid patient evaluations and prioritize care based on acuity and urgency.
- manage a broad range of medical emergencies.
- order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
- collaborate with nurses, specialists, paramedics, and allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive emergency care.
Renumeration
- guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
- guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,600 for Specialists ($800 for half day coverage)
- additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
- accommodations up to $300 per night
- travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
- travel time up to 10 hours per week
- licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)
- all applicants must be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- all family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification considered an asset
Facility Description
Roseway Hospital (RH) provides health care services to approximately 15,000 Shelburne County residents including inpatient, outpatient, and satellite care as well as primary, ambulatory, and emergency care. Located in Shelburne, RH has 19 inpatient beds and works closely with other health care facilities in Yarmouth, Kentville, Liverpool, Bridgewater, and Halifax. Shelburne County also has a new collaborative practice clinic that provides the opportunity to mentor medical residents enrolled in the Dalhousie Family Medicine Program.
