Loading Bay Operative - (Fixed Term Contract)

Contract: 12-week fixed term contract with potential for extension Working Pattern (1): Sunday 07:00 – 13:00, Monday - Thursday 10:00 – 18:00

Working Pattern (2): Tuesday – Friday 06:00 – 14:00, Saturday 06:00 – 12:00

Working with our Warehouse and Transport teams at our depot in Saltash, you will play a vital role in ensuring assembled orders are checked, marshalled, and loaded accurately and safely to support the supply of our SPAR retail stores across the Southwest.

Do you have?

•

Previous warehouse or loading bay experience (preferred)

•

Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment

•

Good timekeeping and a flexible approach to working hours (including weekends)

•

The ability to adhere to stringent Health and Safety guidelines, including manual handling

•

A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues when required

More about the role

This is an active role in a busy warehouse environment, where you will be responsible for:

•

Checking and organising assembled orders within the marshalling area

•

Ensuring cages are correctly allocated to loading rounds and refusing overloaded or poorly stacked cages

•

Assisting with the safe and efficient loading of delivery vehicles

•

Carrying out security checks and ensuring security crates are sealed and recorded correctly

•

Maintaining a continuous supply of cages and straps for Warehouse Assemblers

•

Ensuring returned goods are placed in the correct location

•

Maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the loading bay and marshalling areas

•

Working to operational targets whilst maintaining accuracy and safety standards
