Overview:
This is a Part time role at 32 hours per week.
Job Description Summary:
Job Description:
- Evaluates patients to determine appropriateness of massage therapy services. Establishes goals and develops an individualized treatment plan. Communicates status and collaborates with physicians, third-party payors, and relevant healthcare providers.
- Administers massage therapy treatment to promote relaxation and improve pulmonary function, utilizing stress reduction techniques and other modalities. Observes and modifies treatment plans to meet needs and achieve goals.
- Educates on treatment goals and therapy plans, instructs on massage therapy activities, and evaluates ongoing compliance and understanding.
- Documents as appropriate and in compliance with requirements of the hospital and accrediting associations. Maintains the administrative functions of individual caseload, including scheduling, entering daily charges, and submitting timely documentation.
- Attends continuing education programs and participates in departmental in-service training programs, adheres to department productivity standards, and conducts massage therapy educational programs for hospital staff.
Education Requirement:
Completion of basic Curriculum for Therapeutic Massage from an accredited School of Massage Therapy, required.
Licensure Requirement:
Licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board, required.
Certifications:
- Certification in Neuromuscular and Myofascial Massage Therapy, preferred.
- Certification in Newborn Massage Therapy or Infant Massage, preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
Experience:
Massage therapy experience in a hospital or pediatric setting, or clinical affiliation in pediatrics, required.
