Job description

Brainlabs is the media agency built to answer one question: what's actually driving profit? Founded in 2012 by Daniel Gilbert, we were built by engineers before we were a media agency. Today, 1,000+ Brainlabbers across five continents use our proprietary agents, built on 32 media tools and over 2,500 logged experiments, to help brands connect every channel they plan and buy to one thing: the bottom line.

Job title: SVP Finance, North America

Reports to: Group CFO (indirect to NAmer CEO)

Role type: Full-time

Estimated Start: As soon as available

Location: Boca Raton, Florida

Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship or continuation for this position.

What’s the role

This is the lead finance role for Brainlabs’ North America region. You’ll sit on the NAmer Leadership Team alongside the CEO, COO, Chief Product Officer, Chief Planning & Data Officer and Chief Revenue Officer, acting as the financial conscience and strategic partner to a leadership group that’s building and scaling the region.

The role isn’t primarily about keeping score, we have a strong accounting foundation with a capable team underneath you. It’s about shaping decisions: partnering with the CEO and leadership team to drive forecasting, analysis and commercial insight that directly influences how the region grows.

About Brainlabs

We're the independent, founder-led agency building for the future of media. $1.5B+ in media spend managed, 250+ brands, 1,000+ Brainlabbers across 5 continents, and a premier partner to Google, Meta, Amazon, and TikTok.

We focus on outcomes, not output. We test, learn, and evolve. Over 50% of open roles are filled by promoting our own people, and our 12 Culture Codes shape how we think, work, and grow together.

What you do

  • Leadership team partnership — Serve as the primary finance partner to the NAmer CEO and leadership team. Translate financial data into strategic insight. Challenge plans, pressure-test assumptions, and ensure financial rigour in regional decision-making.
  • Forecasting & planning — Own the NAmer forecasting process end-to-end: revenue, cost, headcount, margin, EBITDA, net profit & cash. Complete monthly rolling validated forecasts that leadership uses to steer the business.
  • Analysis & commercial insight — Deliver the analysis that unlocks better decisions — client profitability, resource utilisation, scenario modelling, investment cases. Proactively surface risks and opportunities rather than waiting to be asked. Explain in the context of the validated forecasts so peers are still clear on “One Version of the Truth”.
  • Cash flow & working capital — Oversee cash flow management and working capital across the NAmer region, ensuring liquidity and financial health are actively monitored and managed.
  • Compliance & controls — Ensure robust compliance across NAmer financial operations including tax, statutory filings, audit, payroll and regulatory requirements. You won’t be doing the returns yourself, but you’re accountable for them being right and on time.
  • Team leadership — Manage and develop the NAmer finance team ensuring a focus on finance capability for the future, in a changing environment.
  • Systems, AI & transformation — Embrace and drive adoption of AI tools and new technology in line with the Group finance strategy. Continuously evaluate how the finance function operates and push for better, faster, smarter ways of working.
  • Group alignment — Work closely with the Group CFO to deliver the Brainlabs Group Finance Strategy (see appendix). Ensure NAmer finance is connected to group reporting and represent NAmer finance clearly and credibly at group level.

Who you are

  • Qualified through a recognized accounting body (CPA or equivalent) — this is a must-have - with 12+ years finance experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Professional services, tech enabled services or media background is also non-negotiable.
  • Proven finance leader with experience as a regional Finance Director or VP of Finance within a fast-paced professional services or agency environment.
  • Comfortable operating at leadership table level — you don’t just present numbers, you tell the story that leads to actionable insight.
  • Deep forecasting and analytical capability. You build models that work and tell stories that land.
  • Curious about AI and technology — you see these as tools to elevate finance, not threats to resist.
  • Strong enough technically to oversee compliance and audit, but your real value is upstream: planning, insight, influence. We report under IFRS but accounting policies are set from Group finance.
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams, with a genuine interest in people progression.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and pace. We’re a founder-led, PE-backed business that moves fast.

How you succeed

  • Radical Clarity — You tell it straight. No sugarcoating performance, no hiding behind complexity. Leadership gets the real picture.
  • Big-Lever Bias — You focus your energy on the analysis and decisions that actually move the P&L, not on perfecting slide formatting.
  • First Principles — When something doesn’t add up, you dig until you find the root cause rather than patching symptoms.
  • We are One Team — You build capability in others. The team gets better because you’re there, not dependent on you.
  • Big Brain Thinking — You use AI and automation to scale insight, not just to speed up manual work.
  • Freedom in Frameworks — You build repeatable processes that empower the team with autonomy, and you default to automate.
