Job description

The Assistant Food & Beverage Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the development and execution of sales initiatives that drive revenue growth across the hotel's food and beverage outlets. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, this role focuses on identifying business opportunities, generating new revenue streams, and increasing patronage from both local and international markets. The Assistant Food & Beverage Sales Manager collaborates closely with the Food & Beverage teams to implement sales strategies that enhance the hotel's reputation as a premier dining and social destination.

The role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, event organizers, social groups, and other key stakeholders to generate new business and repeat patronage. The Assistant Food & Beverage Sales Manager supports sales activities through client prospecting, account management, site inspections, proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and coordination of promotional campaigns. They also assist in identifying market trends, monitoring competitor activities, and developing targeted sales initiatives to maximize food and beverage revenue opportunities.

Additionally, the Assistant Food & Beverage Sales Manager contributes to revenue planning and performance analysis by monitoring sales results, preparing reports, supporting forecasting activities, and recommending actions to improve profitability. The role plays a key part in ensuring that sales objectives are achieved while maintaining exceptional guest experiences and supporting the overall commercial success of the hotel's food and beverage operations.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Additional certifications or professional training in sales, marketing, revenue management, or hospitality management will be an advantage.
     
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles within the hospitality industry is preferred, with exposure to food and beverage sales, events, or hospitality-related business development activities. Experience in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment is highly desirable.
     
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the hospitality and food and beverage industry, including market trends, guest preferences, dining concepts, and the competitive landscape. Familiarity with the local market and key business segments is advantageous.
     
  • Sales and Marketing Skills: Demonstrated ability to support and implement sales strategies that drive food and beverage revenue growth. Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, networking, and business development skills are essential. A guest-focused approach with the ability to increase outlet patronage and in-house capture is required.
     
  • Revenue Management and Analytical Skills: Knowledge of revenue management principles and the ability to analyze sales performance, evaluate business opportunities, prepare forecasts, and contribute to pricing and promotional strategies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
     
  • Relationship Building and Guest Focus: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with clients, event planners, corporate accounts, and internal stakeholders. A strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and service excellence is essential.
     
  • Communication and Team Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. The Assistant Food & Beverage Sales Manager must be able to effectively coordinate with Food & Beverage Operations, Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, and other hotel teams to achieve business objectives.
     
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems, sales platforms, and hotel management software. The ability to prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and business correspondence is required.
     
  • Adaptability and Results Orientation: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively to changing business needs. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a results-driven mindset are essential for success in this role.
