Job Location: DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF) GSC, India (Mumbai)

Purpose: The Manager – Commercial Controlling is responsible for driving sales effectiveness, profitability, and financial governance across the DGF organization. The role ensures fact-based decision-making, supports commercial controlling steering, and enables achievement of business targets through robust analytics, forecasting, and business partnering.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for Commercial Controlling Activities

• Monitor sales volume, GP, revenue, and margin KPIs versus targets
• Track target achievement at country, product, and sales team levels
• Provide monthly sales commentary and scorecard reporting to finance teams
• Identify performance gaps and outliers early (variance analysis)
• Implement processes for cross-trade volume sales incentives
• Prepare monthly sales commentary for DGF
• Create and distribute monthly performance reports per country, including outlier analysis
• Extract and analyze digital leads data
• Perform CREST vs. S360 sales FTE checks
• Prepare monthly field sales analytics for sales incentives and insights
• Prepare quarterly KAM analytics for sales incentives and insights
• Develop monthly sales performance decks for HG
• Run GP and volume forecasts based on the sales pipeline
• Ensure timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting for management
• Support the sales budgeting process
• Regularly compare actuals vs. forecast vs. budget
• Provide early warning signals to management
• Perform ad hoc analysis related to commercial controlling
• Take on diverse responsibilities based on evolving business needs

ERP & Controlling Systems

· Working knowledge of FORWIN, CREST, FRP, and optionally Sales 360.

Functional Experience

• Understanding of finance processes, particularly controlling
• Ability to assess and improve process design to enable best-in-class controlling globally
• Experience contributing to or leading complex global projects with cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
• Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Basic understanding of the freight forwarding/logistics industry
• Strong communication skills and an open mindset

Technical Skills

• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Good understanding of P&L and commercial/financial controlling principles
• Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
• Strong analytical skills, including variance, trend, and root cause analysis
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, complex formulas, data models, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA/macros)
• Strong PowerPoint skills, including presentation development using Think-cell
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI and Qlik
• Ability to work with large datasets and build analytical models
