Job description
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager of Emergency/delegate, the Orthopedic Technologist will work under the direction of the Emergency physician and in collaboration with other members of the health care team of professionals in the Emergency. You will provide care to clients with orthopedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of casts, splints and traction fittings following medical orders of the Emergency physician. This role includes work assignments at all Osler hospital sites as required.
Accountabilities:
- Provides care to clients with orthopedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of cast splints and traction fittings following medical orders of the orthopedic/plastic surgeon or the most responsible physician of the patient
- Current registration with Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologist (CSOT) required (non-registered applicants may apply and once employed will be required to obtain registration)
- Three years experience, as Ortho Technologist required.
- Good communication Skills (verbal and written) required.
- Emergency and Fracture clinic experience required
- Good Interpersonal Skills, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team required
- Knowledge and use of basic computer program preferred
- Good attendance and work record
- May be required to work and travel between all hospital sites
Hours: Currently Days/Evenings, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
SALARY:
Minimum: $38.64 per hour
Maximum: $46.82 per hour
