Job description

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Banquet Executive to join our dynamic hospitality team in Chennai, India. In this pivotal role, you will orchestrate seamless banquet experiences, leading our service team to deliver exceptional events that exceed guest expectations. As the backbone of our banquet operations, you'll coordinate every aspect of our functions—from meticulous planning to flawless execution—while maintaining the highest standards of service excellence and professionalism.

  • Coordinate and supervise the complete setup, service, and breakdown of all banquet functions according to event orders (BEOs), ensuring precision and attention to detail at every stage
  • Lead, train, and motivate the banquet team with a supportive and collaborative approach, conducting comprehensive pre-event briefings and managing staff schedules efficiently
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during events, demonstrating exceptional customer focus by promptly addressing requests, inquiries, and concerns with empathy and professionalism
  • Monitor and maintain superior food and beverage quality, presentation, and service standards throughout each event, making decisive adjustments as needed
  • Manage inventory, coordinate equipment maintenance, and rigorously uphold all safety, health, and hygiene regulations to ensure a secure environment for guests and staff
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Culinary, Events, and Sales teams, fostering transparent communication and innovative problem-solving to ensure cohesive service delivery
  • Analyze event performance metrics and guest feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Organize and execute contingency plans with resilience, adapting flexibly to unexpected challenges while maintaining service quality

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Minimum 2+ years of proven experience in hotel banquet operations or event management within a hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service standards and protocols
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations specific to food service operations
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisive decisions quickly and professionally

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience with event management software or banquet management systems
  • Certification in hospitality management or food safety (FSSAI or equivalent)
  • Background in training and developing hospitality staff
  • Experience coordinating large-scale or high-profile events
  • Familiarity with diverse cuisines and cultural event requirements relevant to Chennai's hospitality market
