Job description

HEAD OF FINANCE

Location: San Francisco (in-person, in-office, full-time ONLY)

Compensation: $160k–$250K base + $25K–$50K cash bonus + meaningful equity

ABOUT VIRIO

Virio is building the next-generation B2B GTM stack. Backed by investors and operators from LinkedIn, YouTube, HubSpot, Rippling, and Google, we help the fastest-growing B2B companies go to market through executive-led content that drives revenue. We are now looking for a Head of Finance to build and own the finance function from the ground up — and to help capitalize on a business model that makes finance unusually strategic. Virio runs on revenue-share / performance-based pricing, so a meaningful share of our revenue is tied to client outcomes and realized over time. That makes accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and lending against future cashflows core to this role, not back-office afterthoughts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the finance function end to end – reporting, controls, FP&A, cash, and compliance
  • Build revenue recognition and accounts receivable processes suited to performance-based, outcome-linked contracts
  • Forecast and model cashflows tied to client performance, and quantify the associated risk and variability
  • Develop the capital strategy to finance against future receivables and cashflows – revenue-based financing, working-capital facilities, and similar
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership on pricing, deal structuring, and strategic decisions
  • Deliver timely management accounts, board materials, and the numbers behind every major decision
  • Manage cash, liquidity, and working capital – including the timing gap between revenue earned and cash collected
  • Build and lead the finance team as the company scales

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

  • Finance leadership experience – Qualified accountant (CPA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience leading a finance function
  • Technical rigor – Strong technical accounting, internal controls, and management reporting foundation
  • Performance-based pricing fluency – Experience with revenue-share, usage-based, or outcome-based pricing models, or a strong appetite to own it
  • Capital & cashflow strategy – Exposure to revenue-based or receivables financing / lending against future cashflows is a major plus
  • B2B GTM fundamentals – Strong understanding of core B2B go-to-market principles and mechanics
  • Founder mentality – Operates with ownership and initiative, comfortable creating structure and process where none exists
  • Judgment & communication – Demonstrates strong judgment with clear written and verbal communication

TRAITS THAT THRIVE AT VIRIO

  • High agency & self-direction – Takes initiative and acts without waiting for instructions
  • Calm under pressure – Remains effective and level-headed in chaotic or high-stakes situations
  • Outcome orientation – Focuses on results and follows through consistently
  • Decision proximity comfort – Comfortable operating close to decision-making and accountability
  • Trust & ownership – Low ego, high ownership, and deeply trustworthy

BENEFITS

  • Competitive total compensation aligned to impact and ownership
  • Meaningful equity upside as part of the founding team
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan
  • All working meals covered
  • Relocation support for San Francisco
  • Company-wide annual off-site
  • Direct access to founders and leadership
  • High ownership, high trust, and fast career progression alongside world-class client partners
  • In-person culture with deep commitment to excellence

This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco. We do not offer hybrid or remote positions.
