SUMMARY OF JOB

Responsible for the daily supervision of the Patient Access Staff performing registration functions in specialty service areas (Pre-admission Testing, Cath Lab/IR, Sleep Lab/Respiratory, Rehab locations, Wound Care, Counseling Center and outpatient covid registration). Monitors the daily workflow, quality and productivity of staff. Ensures the registration process is followed according to procedure, authorizations are obtained and on file, copays /patient payments are collected, and insurance verification is performed. Establishes relationships with other department managers to collaborate in the care of our patients. Performs annual evaluations with staff. Produces monthly statistics as requested.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to show official proof of education.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Health Care registration experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD 10 and CPT coding preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, regulations and practices
  • Ability to set and maintain priorities when dealing with multiple demands and interruptions
  • Ability to mentor, counsel and evaluate employees
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
