Job description

Responsibilities

  • Commercialization and Financing Solutions
  • Lead the commercial negotiations and support the structuring of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)/virtual tolling/revenue swaps or other forms of offtake agreements for solar, BESS, hybrid and wind assets.
  • Lead the participation of federal or state level competitive tender process, including CIS, LTESA, RCM tender etc
  • Structure the project financing or any other preferred financing solutions for the assets within portfolio, and manage the competitive financing processes from RfP stage to Financial Close.
  • Collaborate closely with different internal workstreams including business development, legal, finance, and technical to ensure bankable solutions.

b. Project Sales/Divestment

  • Investors outreach and market research
  • Identify, target, and nurture potential investors (e.g., yieldco, infrastructure funds, pension funds, IPP, banks, family offices) for renewable asset divestment opportunities in Australia.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective investors; conduct regular touchpoints, updates, and executive-level engagements.
  • Develop tailored value propositions and investment theses for each investor segment, aligning asset characteristics with investors’ profile and investment preferences.
  • Lead credible due diligence pre-engagement (e.g., market reviews, project viability, regulatory considerations) to secure investor interest.
  • Coordinate investor communications, meetings, roadshows, and presentations
  • Conduct in-depth market research of the precedent transactions for renewable assets in Australia.
  • Deal Preparation
  • Lead the preparation of teasers, investment memoranda, process letters and market sounding and marketing activities with selected investors as well as shortlisting of preferred investors
  • Conduct market and risk analyses (policy/regulatory landscape, precedent transactions etc, market trend development).
  • Coordinate with different internal workstreams to develop due diligence packages for selected investors.
  • Deal Execution
  • Lead the negotiation of term sheets, and key commercial terms of the transaction documents (HOT, SPA, JVA, SHA and JDA etc).
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams (finance, legal, technical, business development) to advance deals through approval gates.
  • Oversee due diligence coordination, including financial modeling refinements, off-take arrangements, financing, and regulatory risk assessment.
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and dependencies; identify and mitigate bottlenecks to maintain targeted closing dates.
  • Ensure all deal documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with investor expectations and corporate policies.
  • Deal Closing
  • Lead the finalization and execution of transaction agreements and related regulatory approval and filings.
  • Manage closing logistics with all parties (investors, lenders, developers, EPC/O&M contractors), ensuring readiness for disbursement and start of project financing.
  • Obtain internal approvals (executive, risk, legal, compliance) and secure external approvals as required (regulatory bodies, credit committees).
  • Ensure all closing conditions are satisfied, risks are documented, and post-closing integration plans are established.
  • Maintain rigorous governance, risk management, and record-keeping for each deal.

c) Other Brownfield acquisition opportunities and Joint Development activities

  • Support Business Development team on the brownfield acquisition opportunities
  • Lead the negotiation of term sheets, and key commercial terms of the related agreements including but not limited to SPA, JVA, SHA, JDA, DSA.

Requirements

  • Education background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance/accounting/economics from reputable universities or CFA equivalent
  • Ideally 6-8 years+ experience renewable energy M&A and PPA in Australia.
  • Prior sell-side experience with proven track record of successful M&A and PPA execution is a must.
  • Have an extensive investors’ and offtakers’ network
  • Deep understanding of the WEM and NEM markets
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication capabilities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience and successful track record of renewable project financing in Australia is preferred
  • Experienced in financial modelling, valuation, and credit analysis
