Job description

Requirements of the Bookkeeper

  • 5+ years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper, with a strong background in managing end-to-end accounting functions
  • QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Online experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, staff members, and partners

Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper

  • Maintain financial records for monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping clients
  • Determine & post journal entries
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements
  • Maintain client fixed asset schedules
  • Calculate, file, and pay monthly & quarterly sales tax returns
  • Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
  • Prepare year-end W2s and 1099s
  • Research special projects as they arise
