Tax Manager

Vaco is currently hiring a Tax Manager for our client in Mt. Prospect, IL.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a blend of domestic and international tax compliance (e.g., U.S. and Canadian tax regulations)
• Prepare and file income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions
• Oversee tax provision calculations under ASPE/IFRS
• Handle indirect taxes (e.g., sales/use tax, GST/HST) on a recurring basis
• Ensure compliance with state/provincial and property tax requirements
• Support tax audits and collaborate with external advisors
• Lead special tax-related initiatives and projects
• Potential future involvement in insurance-related matters
• Work within a multi-entity, multi-location shared services environment (North American and global)

***No current direct reports, but role may evolve into a leadership position as the team grows

Technical Environment

• ERP Systems: SAP, Navision
• Reporting Standards: IFRS, ASPE
• Tools: Advanced Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation (or in progress)
• Strong experience in tax compliance and planning (U.S. and Canada)
• Background in public accounting preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience in a global or multi-entity corporate environment

Preferred

• Bilingual in Mandarin
• Industry background in manufacturing, distribution, automotive, or logistics
