Keltec Machine Sales (Kilmallock) Limited is a well-established engineering company based in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. We design and manufacture a growing range of attachment products for the agricultural machinery sector, along with bespoke engineering products for the utilities and wider industrial sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are now looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on engineering role where the successful candidate will be involved in both the design and manufacturing sides of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical engineering, product development, manufacturing, problem-solving, and seeing a product move from concept through to finished build.
The Role
The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with management, workshop teams, fabricators, machine operators, and customers where required. The role will involve supporting the design, development, improvement, and production of Keltec’s agricultural machinery attachments and bespoke engineering projects.
Key responsibilities will include
Designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and products. Preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and production information. Supporting the manufacture of products from design through to completion. Working with the workshop team to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable. Reviewing and improving existing product designs. Assisting with new product development and product testing. Supporting bespoke engineering projects for the utilities and industrial sectors. Liaising with suppliers, fabricators, and internal team members. Solving technical issues that arise during fabrication, assembly, or installation. Helping to improve production efficiency, quality, and repeatability. Ensuring engineering work is completed to a high standard and in line with safety and quality requirements. The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a practical, capable engineer who understands both design and manufacturing. The right person will be comfortable working in an engineering environment and will have a strong interest in machinery, fabrication, product development, and mechanical problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will have
A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience in mechanical design, fabrication, manufacturing, or agricultural machinery. Strong CAD skills. Good understanding of steel fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes. Ability to produce clear and accurate drawings for manufacture. Strong problem-solving skills. A practical approach and willingness to work closely with the workshop team. Good communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Strong attention to detail. An interest in agricultural machinery, attachments and besoke items
