Embedded Software Developer

CrossControl is looking for an embedded software developer working with specification, design, verification and maintenance of various types of software and firmware solutions running embedded computer systems. We are looking for an engineer with a great interest in embedded systems development and problem solving to join our team.

Competence and experience

The person we’re looking for has

• An academic degree within engineering or computer science as a foundation for knowledge in the fields of microcontrollers, ARM- and x86-based systems, and electrical and digital systems design
• AnWorking experience from embedded systems development or an educational profile towards embedded systems, as described per below:
• Linux system development using Yocto, including bootloader, kernel, driver and library development
• Communication buses such as I2C, SPI, CAN/CAN-FD, and Ethernet
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing
• An independent yet team-oriented mindset with a sense of optimism and a strong commitment to achieving set goals and organizational success
• An ability to work independently and in projects

In addition, it is qualifying if you have additional experience with:

• Hardware and/or software engineering; including but not limited to traditional product development processes, agile hybrid development, test-driven development, requirements management, test automation systems and continuous improvement
• Microcontroller and firmware development
• Electronics systems design and development
• Telematics integration in embedded systems, such as experience with Bluetooth, WiFi, cellular and positioning systems driver integration and/or application development
• Data security and functional safety
• Windows and Windows Embedded system, driver and library development
• FPGA development You will be part of our product software development team. You enjoy working in project teams where we develop complete industrial display, controller and other embedded device solutions for serial production. In addition we also maintain the firmware and software in already existing products, and develop and maintain test software for serial production testing. You follow the product from requirements through serial production to maintenance phases. You work with specification, design, prototypes, test, documentation and questions concerning serial production and software maintenance.

The position is within our product development section in Alfta (Sweden), Uppsala (Sweden) or Tampere (Finland) offices.
