Who You Will Work With:
We are looking for a Payments Product Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in building and improving products that impact our customers. This internship offers an opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, define product strategies, and contribute to the product development lifecycle. What You Will Do:
Support the Product team in day-to-day activities with stakeholder groups (squads, sales, engineering, marketing, and partners) to address product-related issues and concerns
Support Product Managers in delivering payments initiatives (debit, digital payments, or network-related features)
Provide general support to the product roadmap, defining requirements, conducting product research, and assisting in squads to deliver corporate objectives
Assist with general product programs and initiatives, including participation in squad activities (sprints), documenting requirements, and contributing to the product roadmap
Conduct market research and analyze user feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements.
Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to support product launches
Participate in user testing, gather insights, and make recommendations for UX/UI improvements
Research, analyze, and maintain information systems in support of the product roadmap using tools like Jira, Figma, and other product tools
Assist in gathering, documenting, and structuring business requirements from internal and external stakeholders
Conduct basic analysis of payment transaction data, user behaviour, and merchant/category trends
Support product economics / pricing analysis, including reviewing cost, revenue, interchange, and unit economics impacts of product or feature decisions
Prepare materials for stakeholder meetings, including presentations, briefing notes, and status updates
Track project actions, dependencies, and timelines across cross-functional teams
Participate in meetings and capture key decisions, actions, and follow-ups
Support end-to-end product documentation (flows, requirements, process maps, and journeys)
Support market and competitor research in payments, fintech, or digital commerce
Assist in testing, validation, or documentation of new features or pilot programs
Coordinate light cross-functional activities across Product, Technology, Legal, Risk, and Operations
What You Bring:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s (Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field)
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and ability to interpret data
Strong written communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficiency in PowerPoint
Exposure to payments, banking, fintech, or financial services (coursework, co-op, or internship experience)
Basic understanding of payments concepts (e.g., authorization, clearing & settlement, tokenization, interchange)
Experience building presentations in PowerPoint for executive audiences
Familiarity with SQL or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Interest in product management or financial services as a career path
What We’re Offering:
The hourly pay range for this position is $23 to $25, and the internship term runs from September to December 2026. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge. An internship opportunity at Interac also features:
