Responsibilities

In this role the Technical Lab Specialist will perform the following job duties:

  • Assist Supervisor in planning, scheduling, coordinating and problem solving in the assigned Laboratory area.
  • Involve with instrument validation, correlations, new procedures, and special projects.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, some requiring advance knowledge and skills.
  • Operate lab instrumentation to provide clinical data for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease.
  • Make independent judgment decisions in the reporting of normal and abnormal results.
  • Set up new Quality Control (QC) lots and review quality control routinely.
  • Assist with competencies.

Schedule

FTE: 1.0

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm

Days: Monday-Friday

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Specific course work: Bachelor's degree in Human Science (such as biology, chemistry, medical technology, and clinical/medical laboratory science)

Necessary Skills

  • Practices Hospitality Training
  • Possesses critical thinking skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Required Licensure/Certifications: Florida licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Supervisor
