In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a seamless and compassionate experience from start to finish.
Position Overview
As a Provider Schedule Coordinator you will
- Utilizing Qgenda create and manage provider schedules with a 6 month lead time to reflect all daytime and nighttime assignments for the office and hospital (all GCM locations).
- Ensure maximum limits are kept as to the number of physicians allowed off per day.
- Maintain individual vacation/CME tallies/limits for all physicians, add and deactivate providers and non-scheduled users in Qgenda.
- Utilizing EPIC open and close office schedules for the providers and diagnostic templates for the GCM institute.
- Assess and implement schedule changes with the approval of the clinic administrators and lead physicians with consideration of least disruptive alterations to the practice while maintaining physician coverage in the hospital and office.
- Notify and coordinate with the appropriate scheduling staff when patients need to be. rescheduled due to a schedule change requested by a physician.
- Coordinate locums coverage when appropriate.
- Schedule Odyssey sessions for new providers in conjunction with the institute's clinic administrators.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of TWO YEARS of clerical experience in a medical office setting REQUIRED.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical office software, including EPIC systems; knowledge of medical terminology and billing processes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Cultural Competence: Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at all levels of authority.
