Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The SQA Coordinator strategically leads compliance with BRP requirements in product development and rigorous quality standards, guiding and driving the SQA team to ensure consistent delivery of conforming material, optimize costs, and eliminate operational risks in manufacturing through:

  • Creating alignment models and forums among suppliers, internal stakeholders, and the SQA team, establishing a common vision and ensuring coordinated execution across the supply chain.
  • Defining prioritization frameworks that enable the SQA team to actively implement quality improvement initiatives and mobilize the organization toward high-impact actions.
  • Guiding the team to obtain cross-functional responses to non-conformities, ensuring agile, effective, and sustainable resolution.
  • Transforming complex data into strategic insights, guiding structured decision-making.
  • Promoting rigorous attention to detail and compliance with quality standards within the team.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering and Business Administration preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality or a related field (supply chain preferred)
  • 5 years of experience leading a team (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Certifications

  • Leadership focused on developing high-performance teams, results, and rigor in work structure
  • Effective communication, conflict management, and negotiation with suppliers
  • Experience in analyzing and solving complex problems (focused on leadership and sustainability)
  • Ability to train and develop the team to lead negotiations and meaningful conversations with suppliers
  • Availability to travel (domestic and international)
  • Ability to maintain oral and written communication in English and Spanish

General Quality Knowledge

  • Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (root cause analysis)
  • Knowledge of Core Tools (focus on follow-up and compliance)
  • Knowledge of quality audits (support and coordination)
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Experience in product development

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Coordination of Quality Issues and Suppliers

  • Design, implement, and maintain controls for the management, discussion, and evaluation of supplier quality issues (KPI monitoring, identification of recurring issues)
  • Facilitate timely notification, escalation, and follow-up of non-conformities (NCM and NCR) and identified supplier risks through to effective closure by the team
  • Develop and adapt the foundation for executing robust containment and corrective actions between the SQA team and suppliers
  • Promote, drive, and develop within the team that actions taken with suppliers are firm and protect, reinforce, and continuously improve BRP’s operational performance

Supplier Support and Development

  • Coordinate supplier validation activities, audits, and visits
  • Follow up on compliance with quality requirements aligned with company expectations
  • Ensure the SQA team executes and closes actions derived from evaluations
  • Guarantee structured communication with suppliers and stakeholders

Non-Conforming Material Control (Quarantine and Rework)

  • Guide the team in prioritizing containment, disposition, traceability, and rework actions of non-conforming material
  • Identify and proactively communicate risks detected in the availability of defect-free material
  • Ensure clear communication to stakeholders regarding updates on material correction and clean point

New Product Introduction Management (PPAP)

  • Lead the timely review and release of PPAP
  • Ensure compliance with the new product launch plan

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure the professional development of the team under their responsibility to guarantee successful performance
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, internal work regulations, and code of ethics
  • Comply with company safety rules
  • Any other duty or responsibility assigned by the department supervisor
