NET Dispatcher (Part-Time)
Galveston County Health District is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented part-time EMS NET Dispatcher to support our Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA) team. In this role, you will coordinate and schedule non-emergency patient transports, maintain accurate records, verify insurance information, and ensure timely communication between hospitals, nursing facilities, and EMS personnel. This position is described in the attached job description.

What You'll Do
- Receive and process requests for non-emergency patient transports
- Schedule local and long-distance transports to maximize available resources
- Maintain transport logs and collect patient demographic, medical, and insurance information
- Monitor ambulance status and coordinate transport activity
- Verify insurance information and review patient care reports for documentation compliance
- Track dispatch activity using designated software and spreadsheets
- Perform quality assurance activities for NET calls in accordance with Medicare requirements
- Coordinate with EMS supervisors and outside transport providers as needed
- Assist with reports and data collection for advisory groups and stakeholders
- Participate in public health emergency response activities when needed
- Perform other duties and cross-training assignments as required
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of experience related to patient care or non-emergency dispatching preferred, preferred
- Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to prioritize and adjust schedules in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
- Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Must meet immunization, background check, and drug/alcohol screening requirements
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners
