Job description
Overview The Space Planner connects merchandising strategy with advanced data and space planning to drive sales profitability and operation efficiency. From a product perspective the role will have to develop and manage the use of store planograms, to turn data gathered into actionable insights. These insights lead to increased productivity of Foot Lockers product assortments, better liquidation of aged inventory, reduction of markdown spend and support / advice with buying decisions. The role will work together with the product teams (buying, merchandising), marketing teams, and store operations to ensure good use of planograms. Responsibilities Data & Systems Maintain accurate store database maintenance and store clustering across internal systems (Excel, SharePoint and PowerBi) Build and maintain automated reports integrating sales, inventory and spatial data for the Space Planning team Space & Assortment Planning Assist in or lead any special project that are required for Space Planning Support new store layouts and concepts with cross-functional teams (VM, OPS, RE) and advise merchandising on product/ sku counts which is market relevant Analyze performance and provide insights to improve profitability and reduce markdowns. Monitor space productivity, SKU counts, and assortment performance Ensure assortment guidelines correspond with financial plans and merchandise strategy. Business Partnerning & Strategy Collaborate with merchandising, buying, marketing, and store operations teams Translate data into actionable recommendations supporting commercial decisions Define, monitor, and report on KPIs Conduct high level analysis and reports for Senior Management Support and lead cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Requirements A Bachelor or Master degree in Economics or Business Administration Minimum of 5 years retail experience Experience with retail planning, forecasting and allocation is a must Excellent knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with database management Knowledge of retail planning Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong presentation and organizational skills Core Compentencies Ability to work under time and results pressure, tight deadlines and changing priorities Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and with a wide variety of business partners Able to work as part of a team and coordinate activities with other departments in an engaging way/ no silo mentality. Natural ability to engage others into buying into a vision or a solution, while keeping an open mind to others opinions. Superior communication skills and ability to influence across all levels of a complex, culturally diverse matrix organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
