What is the opportunity?
The Building Support Officer provides support and assistance to the National Centres. This 100% onsite role provides support in the day to day premise operation and equipment requirements. This role assists with technology, including retrieval and peripheral requirements for onsite, as well as remote office. The Officer manages premises/remote office issues and challenges ensuring quick resolution where possible, having minimal impact on client experience and related strategies. The role completes assigned operational support/technical projects and initiatives as required.
What will you do?
- First point of contact for day to day for the premises operations and Technology troubleshooting as required for the National Centres. Liaises with other appropriate functional departments (ie. ROE, Telephony, DSS, RBC IT, RBC Telecom, C.I.M. and National Office) to minimize client fulfilment disruption and client service commitments standards.
- Co-ordinates technology, including retrieval and peripheral requirements for onsite, as well as remote office.
- Accurate and timely documentation/tracking related to assets, peripherals, and other daily activities for all lines of business.
- Shares in the distribution of work Nationally with the team to support all Centre locations by responding to requests received via the Intake Form/ESCF.
- Ensures continuity in completing requests and associated SLAs during vacations/leaves.
- Creates work orders immediately for maintenance identified, track and follow-up to ensure completed in timely manner.
- Manages and maintains office equipment inventory for the applicable Centres and identifies opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and operational efficiencies.
- Coordinates set up for employees, internal moves, projects / renovations that are completed within the centre as applicable
- Support centre zone seating and implement necessary changes for upcoming co-hort as applicable
- Ensures positive experience for on-boarding of Persons with Disabilities and existing employees by fulfilling all workspace ergo requirements as provided by Recruitment and/or People Managers.
- Fosters overall efficiency and effectiveness of workplace accommodations, through collaboration with counterparts and HR contacts. Escalates unresolved concerns to Mgr Centre of Expertise, BSO, as applicable
- Responsible for the control/maintenance of the centre electronics and equipment ie Printers, PC’s, PC Peripherals, Monitors, Laptops, etc – as applicable.
- Responsible for the issuance, retrieval and verification of all keys for building access, peds, offices, & fobs for the centre, as applicable.
- Consistently reacts and adapts to changing environment. Provides recommendations on issues and /or process change (ie. BCP/operational risk/equipment/technology)
- Proactively seeks out and recommends internal (OEG) and external (business partners) process efficiencies, removing non-value add steps and streamlining processes.
- Travel approx. 20% as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
- 2 years work experience within the Operations support environment
- Working knowledge of Excel, SharePoint, Word
- Ability to work closely with Internal/External Service Partners & Vendors
- Should be current with and proactive in keeping in step with latest Centre technologies and facility requirements (premises/equipment).
- Thorough understanding of RBC & Centre BCP processes/procedures, as applicable
- Thorough knowledge of relevant Health & Safety policy , IT Asset Audit requirements
