He aha te tūranga - About the role:

As the Secretary for our Hato Hone St John Area Committee in Palmerston North, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Chairperson and committee to deliver positive outcomes for the local hapori.

This voluntary role is all about keeping things moving smoothly — preparing agendas and minutes, coordinating communication, and helping the committee stay connected and focused on their mahi to support our local whānau and hapori.

  • You'll also help strengthen relationships within St John and the wider community, and contribute to building a stronger, more resilient Aotearoa.

Ko wai koe - About you:

You’re someone who enjoys helping out and being part of a team making a real difference in the community. You’re organised, friendly, and happy to roll up your sleeves to support the mahi of our local Hato Hone St John whānau.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in administration, secretarial support, or governance (desirable but not essential)
  • Good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office
  • An ability to plan ahead, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
  • A positive, professional attitude and a commitment to mahi tahi (working together)
