The role

The Senior Business Banking Manager leads the growth and performance of a complex business lending portfolio by developing and executing sales strategies, managing credit risk, and building strong, long-term customer relationships. The role requires a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and industries to deliver tailored solutions and exceptional service, while also supporting the Head of Business Banking in coaching and motivating a team to achieve strategic and revenue targets.

In this role, you will

  • Actively manage and grow a diversified portfolio of members across both business and property transactions.
  • Deliver exceptional service by creating trusted, long-term relationships and providing tailored banking solutions
  • Prepare complex lending submissions that balance opportunity with risk, ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations.
  • Build and foster a network of internal and external referral partners to maximise new business opportunities.
  • Drive achievement of sales targets at individual and team level through regular monitoring and coaching conversations.
  • Undertakes regular coaching sessions using performance dashboards with team members to drive performance outcomes.

About you

 

  • Business/Finance related degree and / or post graduate professional qualification (preferred but not essential).
  • Minimum 5-7 years + experience in business banking and /or credit assessment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead others towards a common goal.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and business development skills.
  • High-level sales management, lending, financial analysis, credit risk management and customer service skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
