Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse, Admission Hold Nurse Support - for the Emergency Department.


Shift: Nights:

Scheduled Hours: 36

License and Certification

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

Education

  • RN-Associate’s Degree, or

  • RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or

  • RN-Diploma, or

  • RN-Master’s Degree

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient nursing

The Emergency Department Transition to Practice program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in the Emergency Department.

Overview:

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

    Emergency Department (ED) – Sentara CarePlex Hospital Emergency Department is focused on providing exceptional emergency service to patients. The Emergency Department consists of 43 beds, including 11 fast-track beds for patients with shorter lengths of stay. Emergency physicians are board-certified. All emergency nurses undergo specialized training in emergency care and have received Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric certifications.
