Who You Are

You are someone who has experience in either the film, television, theatre or construction industry with a keen eye for detail, design and the safe delivery of a variety of projects across channels. You are an effective and resourceful problem solver who loves investigating the best way to create and bring to life a script & a set within the given constraints of time and budget. This is a part time role that involves the construction of both set flattage, as well as the assistance (where required) for a variety of speciality prop builds.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

Reporting directly to the Art Department Lead, the Construction Lead is responsible for delivering the building aspects of any video on time and within the budget approved by the Art Department Lead and Head of Studio Production

Inventory and Budget Forecasting

Required to present various construction materials and expendables to the Art Department Lead and Head of Studio Production for approval ahead of video production. In some cases, buying and sourcing will be required.

Pre-Production Support

Reading and analysing scripts where required

Safely plan and procure materials to facilitate the required set and or prop pieces.

Ensure that the construction/making elements are delivered on time for the studio team to set dress/test.

Safety & Compliance

Present and collaborate with the Head of Studio Production to develop safer ways to achieve set builds and prop makes.

Observe and improve on existing practices

Hold a White Card and First Aid certificate

Team Collaboration and Vendor Coordination

Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with everyone in the studio team and maintain good relationships with vendors and relevant third parties.
