Job description
Founded in 2017, ThrustMe is a pioneering space technology company specializing in advanced propulsion systems for small satellites. We are global experts in satellite propulsion, pushing the boundaries of streamlined in-orbit mobility for the rapidly expanding satellite constellation industry. Our clients across the US, Europe, and Asia trust us to design and deliver high-performance, precision-engineered propulsion systems that push technological boundaries while meeting demanding timelines and budgets. We made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world’s first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fueled electric propulsion systems. Today, we are experiencing rapid growth, with over 300 systems ordered to date.
As an (Assembly, Integration, and Test) Engineer (M/F) inside Production team at ThrustMe, you will play a key role in the continuous improvement of our systems by ensuring they are thoroughly validated, and tested. You will act as a bridge between Production and other teams across ThrustMe, communicating production requirements effectively and supporting the integration of improvements into testing processes and test cases.
Main tasks and responsibilities
•
Perform system-level investigations and analyses to identify performance issues, define corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
•
Design, plan, and execute propulsion, vibration, and operational test campaigns on both individual components and fully integrated systems.
•
Develop and maintain detailed test documentation, ensuring traceability of procedures, results, and lessons learned.
•
Analyze and interpret test data, prepare technical reports, and lead test readiness and post-test review activities.
•
Provide hands-on support to production and engineering teams during assembly, commissioning, operation, and optimization of new system components and test facilities.
Required skills and qualifications
•
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
•
Hands-on experience with the assembly, integration, and testing of complex mechanical and/or mechatronic systems.
•
Practical experience working with electronic equipment, ideally in a laboratory environment, including hardware troubleshooting and debugging.
•
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
•
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality in both execution and documentation.
•
Ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
•
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
•
Familiarity with aerospace qualification and environmental testing standards, including thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, and shock testing, is considered a strong asset.
