Job description
Role Purpose
We are looking for an experienced and driven Department Manager – Supply Chain. The purpose of the Department Manager Supply Chain is to oversee and manage operations within three critical areas: Receiving, Inventory, and Order Management/Outbound. The role is responsible for optimizing supply chain operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team to meet strategic business objectives and deliver excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
•
Coordinate stock distribution across locations to prevent shortages
•
Oversee vendor interactions, including returns and recalls
•
Ensure strict compliance with receiving procedures and safety standards
•
Manage stock levels and optimize storage using structured methods (e.g., 5S)
•
Conduct regular stock counts to maintain high accuracy (target ~98%)
•
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, improving loss prevention
•
Ensure product quality across all stages (incoming, stored, outgoing)
•
Oversee order processing from verification to dispatch
•
Apply inventory rotation principles (FIFO/LIFO)
•
Manage Click & Collect operations for efficient customer pickup
•
Communicate order status with internal teams, partners, and customers
•
Lead, train, and support team members to meet performance goals
•
Plan staffing to maintain service levels
•
Drive team engagement and step in for leadership when needed
•
Handle disciplinary processes where required
Qualifications and Experience
•
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (advantageous)
•
Proven experience managing supply chain functions, including receiving, inventory control, and outbound logistics with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role
•
Proficiency in inventory management systems and accurate stock movement recording
•
Knowledge of warehouse methodologies such as 5S, FIFO, and LIFO
•
Ability to conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and operational failures
•
Experience leading and supporting teams, including coaching, training, and managing disciplinary processes
•
Strong understanding and enforcement of workplace health & safety regulations and product quality standards
