Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing all supply chain activities at the API manufacturing site within a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). This role ensures reliable and efficient planning, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics to meet customer demand while complying with GMP and regulatory requirements.
The position operates in a multi-product, multi-client environment, requiring strong coordination across functions and high responsiveness to customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning
•
Develop and manage production plans aligned with customer demand, contracts, and capacity constraints
•
Coordinate with Manufacturing, QA, QC, and Engineering to ensure feasible and compliant schedules
•
Optimize plant utilization while balancing lead times, batch sizes, and campaign strategies
•
Manage S&OP process at plant level
- Customer Supply Management on commercial products and generics
•
Act as the main point of contact for customer order fulfillment and supply commitments
•
Ensure high OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance
•
Manage order prioritization, lead times, and delivery commitments
•
Communicate proactively on risks, delays, and recovery plans
- Purchasing
•
Oversee purchasing of raw materials, solvents, and packaging materials through ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance
•
Ensure continuity of supply for critical GMP materials
•
Maintain supplier master data and drive system-based performance tracking
•
Collaborate with global/category procurement teams
- Inventory Management
•
Monitor and control inventory using ERP tools, ensuring real-time accuracy and traceability
•
Optimize stock levels across raw materials, WIP, intermediates, and finished APIs
•
Monitor shelf life, batch status, and obsolete stock
•
Optimize working capital and inventory turns
- Logistics & Distribution
•
Oversee inbound/outbound logistics executed and tracked via ERP systems
•
Ensure compliance with GDP, customs, and international shipping regulations
•
Manage transport planning, import/export documentation, and delivery execution
- ERP & Data Management
•
Ensure effective use of ERP systems for planning, purchasing, inventory, and order management
•
Maintain high-quality master data
•
Ensure data accuracy and traceability across all supply chain processes
•
Support system improvements and digitalization initiatives

Qualifications & Experience
•
Master’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Chemistry, or Business
•
10+ years’ experience in supply chain in pharma, API, CDMO, or chemical industry
•
Strong knowledge of API manufacturing processes
•
Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements
•
Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
•
Experience in S&OP, planning and complex production environments
