Job description

We are Fatshark

We are a critically acclaimed Swedish game development studio with about 190 experienced and skilled employees. We are most well-known for developing the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

We have grown quite a bit over the last few years, but we still embrace the same values that we started with. We want to build the best first person co-op games together, in an approachable, fun and passion-driven way.

The role

We’re looking for a Senior Cinematic Artist with a strong sense of composition, storytelling, and motion. You’ll work in real-time environments, blending your expertise in 3D, motion, and graphic design to craft high-quality cinematic sequences and visual storytelling moments that bring our worlds to life. In addition, you have a strong background or experience in animation, ensuring that characters’ movement and interactions feel smooth and captivating.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, from art and design to marketing and production, shaping the visual tone and pacing of our cinematics. The ideal candidate is both creative and technical, with an eye for cinematic framing, color, and atmosphere, and a hands-on approach to layout, animation, and camera work in Unreal Engine (and willing to learn Stingray).

This is a 12-month temporary contract with a chance of becoming permanent.

What you'll do

Develop and deliver real-time cinematics, trailers, and visual sequences in collaboration with the Art and Narrative teams

Handle layout, camera work, animation, lighting, and composition for cinematic scenes

Work directly inside Unreal Engine and Stingray to prototype, iterate, and finalize shots

Integrate and optimize 3D assets, VFX, and motion elements to maintain both quality and performance

Collaborate with video editors, sound designers, and marketing artists to ensure consistency in pacing, style, and tone

Support visual development for motion graphics and in-game storytelling elements

Contribute creative ideas on how to enhance emotional impact through visual rhythm, color, and motion

Maintain organized project files and ensure efficient workflows for real-time production

Required qualifications

5+ years of proven experience as a Cinematic Artist or similar role in games, film, or real-time production

Strong eye for composition, lighting, framing, and storytelling through motion

Proven experience with animating, rigging, keyframing characters

Proficiency in 3D tools (Maya, Blender, or equivalent) and motion design software (After Effects, Premiere, etc.)

Experience working in Unreal Engine; experience with or willingness to learn Stingray

Understanding of real-time rendering and performance optimization

Excellent sense of timing, rhythm, and visual flow in animation and editing

A collaborative mindset and ability to take ownership of cinematic sequences from concept to delivery

Passion for games and storytelling, with a high bar for quality and detail

Opportunities for personal growth with varied projects, experienced co-workers and recurring hack weeks/days

Regulated flex time and paid overtime
