Marketing and Communication Lead

Navitas is seeking a dynamic and results-driven, Marketing & Communications Lead for one of its university partners, Western Sydney University. This role will be responsible for leading the development and execution of integrated marketing, communications, and brand strategies to support the successful launch and continued growth of Western Sydney University's Greater Noida campus

Working closely with teams across India and Australia, the successful candidate will drive brand awareness, student recruitment, stakeholder engagement, and institutional reputation through innovative marketing campaigns, media engagement, digital marketing, content creation, and strategic partnership initiatives. This is a hands-on opportunity for a proactive self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, can work independently, effectively manage external agencies, and build strong relationships across media, education, and industry networks.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Campaigns

  • Develop and execute annual marketing plans aligned to student recruitment and brand objectives.
  • Plan and deliver integrated campaigns across digital, social, search, media, events, and partnerships.
  • Manage campaign performance, reporting, and optimisation.
  • Support student recruitment activities and lead generation initiatives.

Digital Marketing & Performance

  • Manage paid media campaigns across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, and local Indian channels.
  • Oversee SEO, website performance, and digital content strategy.
  • Monitor campaign KPIs, including leads, conversions, CPL, and ROI.
  • Work with external agencies to optimise performance and audience targeting.

Media & Public Relations

  • Develop relationships with media outlets, journalists, and education publications.
  • Coordinate media opportunities, interviews, press releases, and announcements.
  • Manage local PR agency relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to position Western Sydney University as a leading international education provider in India.

Content & Communications

  • Develop compelling content showcasing student outcomes, industry partnerships, and campus developments.
  • Coordinate the production of videos, case studies, social content, and thought leadership.
  • Ensure messaging aligns with global brand standards and local market needs.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support engagement with schools, pathway partners, government stakeholders, and industry organisations.
  • Assist with launch events, recruitment activities, and partnership initiatives.
  • Work closely with recruitment teams to ensure marketing activities support enrolment targets.

Brand Management

  • Establish and maintain Western Sydney University's brand presence in India.
  • Ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all channels.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends.

Essential

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or student recruitment marketing.
  • Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Strong experience in digital marketing and paid media campaign management.
  • Experience managing external agencies and third-party vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing marketing budgets, campaign performance, and reporting.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of the Indian higher education sector.
  • Knowledge of student recruitment marketing and the prospective student journey.
  • Sound understanding of media relations and public relations practices in India.

Skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a university, international education provider, pathway provider, or education agency.
  • Experience supporting the launch of a new brand, campus, or education venture.
  • Established network of digital media, creative, PR, and production partners within India.
