Job description

Skilled Trades Assistant

Location: Various project sites across Alberta, Saskatchewan & Yukon Territory Position Type: Full-Time, Highly Mobile Schedule: Site-based rotations (varies by project)

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and hands-on Skilled Trades Assistant who enjoys working in the field and is willing to travel from site to site across Western Canada. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in changing environments, is eager to learn, and wants to build a long-term career in the construction industry.

You will support qualified tradespeople on active construction sites, assist with general labour and equipment tasks, and ensure work areas are safe, organized, and efficient. This is a very mobile position —projects may be located in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon, and travel is provided.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist trades teams with day-to-day tasks, material handling, and site preparation
  • Support carpenters, equipment operators, labourers, and other skilled trades
  • Operate basic tools and equipment safely (training provided where required)
  • Help set up, clean, and maintain work areas and project sites
  • Transport materials, tools, and supplies as needed
  • Follow all company and site safety procedures
  • Travel from project to project across Western Canada
  • Support various construction scopes depending on the site (foundations, framing, siding, interiors, etc.)

What You Bring

  • Previous construction or labour experience (asset, not mandatory)
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work on rotating schedules
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Safety certifications (CSTS, First Aid, WHMIS) considered an asset
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labour

What We Offer

  • Competitive wages
  • Paid travel, accommodations and meals depending on project
  • Opportunities for training and ticket upgrades
  • Exposure to multiple trades and project types
  • Long-term growth within a respected Western Canadian construction company
  • A supportive team environment that values safety, teamwork, and career development

How to Apply
