Job description

Cardiology Associates is seeking an experienced Test Scheduler to join our growing outpatient cardiology practice in Baldwin County, Alabama. The ideal candidate will have strong scheduling, insurance authorization, and referral experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environment..

This position plays an important role in coordinating patient care by scheduling diagnostic testing, obtaining prior authorizations, and communicating with patients, providers, and insurance companies.

This is a full-time, day shift position with no weekends and paid holidays off.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule diagnostic testing and patient procedures accurately and efficiently
  • Obtain prior authorizations and insurance referrals
  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding authorizations and coverage
  • Manage a high volume of incoming patient and provider phone calls
  • Coordinate scheduling with physicians, clinical staff, and patients
  • Maintain accurate patient scheduling documentation and records
  • Navigate multiple computer systems and insurance portals daily
  • Ensure professional and compassionate communication with patients

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical scheduling experience required
  • Prior authorization and referral experience required
  • Strong understanding of insurance verification and scheduling workflows
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Experience working with multiple computer applications and insurance websites
  • Previous cardiology or specialty practice experience preferred
