The Role

We are looking for a Trainee Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our Wellington service team. This is a full-time role with a minimum of 40 hours per week, focused on learning the servicing, installation, testing and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.

You’ll work across a range of customer sites, support qualified technicians, and develop the practical and technical skills needed to succeed in the fire protection industry. If you bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn, we’ll support you to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting experienced technicians to diagnose and repair system faults
  • Helping with minor installation work and site-based tasks
  • Learning safe work practices, including working at heights
  • Delivering professional service to customers and site contacts

What You’ll Bring

  • A full, clean NZ driver licence
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn
  • Confidence working at heights, or willingness to be trained
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Clean criminal history
  • Current First Aid certificate is an advantage
  • Previous trade, mechanical, plumbing or construction experience would be beneficial, but is not essential

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate of $25–$28, depending on skills and experience
  • NZQA training and development while you work
  • Support from knowledgeable, experienced technicians
  • Varied work across different customer sites and project environments
  • A clear pathway into a long-term career in fire protection

Please note: pre-employment checks, including drug testing and criminal history checks, will be required.
