Job description

Fixed-Term (12 Months), Full-Time, & Hybrid Working

We are seeking a dedicated Student Support Officer to join our team in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, on a 12-month fixed-term contract providing parental leave cover. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and assistance to students, ensuring their academic journey is smooth and successful.

  • Respond to student inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, offering guidance and solutions.
  • Assist students with various administrative tasks, such as registration, course enrollment, and record maintenance.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and faculty, facilitating effective communication and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Provide information and resources to students regarding academic policies, procedures, and support services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and staff members to ensure seamless student support operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the student experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritise competing demands, and solve problems efficiently
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in student information systems, databases, and related software applications
  • Experience in customer service or student support, ideally within an educational or academic environment
  • At least a Diploma qualification in Business or a related field, or sufficient experience equivalent to a Diploma qualification
