Community Mobilization Officer

Summary: The Community Mobilization and Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in strengthening community participation and fostering inclusive development within project initiatives. This position is essential for building trust, driving awareness, and ensuring that marginalized voices—particularly women, youth, and vulnerable groups—are actively involved in decision-making processes. By facilitating meaningful engagement, supporting advocacy efforts, and maintaining strong partnerships with local stakeholders, the officer ensures that project activities are community-driven, sustainable, and aligned with principles of climate justice, human rights, and gender equality. The role contributes directly to the project’s impact, accountability, and long-term success. Responsibilities: Mobilize and organize communities for project activities, meetings, trainings, campaigns, and advocacy initiatives. Build and maintain strategic relationships with local authorities, community leaders, women’s and youth groups, and civil society organizations. Lead community sensitization and awareness campaigns on climate justice, environmental protection, human rights, gender equality, and sustainable development. Facilitate community dialogues, consultations, and stakeholder engagement sessions to promote inclusive decision-making. Support the implementation of field activities and ensure active and equitable participation of beneficiaries. Collect and analyze community feedback, and deliver regular reports on community concerns and project impact. Assist in resolving conflicts and promote peaceful, constructive engagement within communities. Collaborate with the monitoring and evaluation team to track community participation and assess project outcomes. Support community-based advocacy and legal empowerment initiatives to strengthen local agency and rights awareness. Prepare comprehensive field activity reports and submit timely updates to project management.
