Job description
Patient Assessment · Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and evaluations. · Assess suitability for aesthetic procedures and recognize contraindications. · Document patient information accurately in medical records. · Obtain informed consent before procedures. Performing Aesthetic Procedures Depending on the hospital’s policies, physician supervision requirements, and licensing regulations, responsibilities may include: · Administering injectable treatments such as botulinum toxin and dermal fillers where permitted. · Performing chemical peels. · Conducting micro needling procedures. · Assisting with laser treatments and other energy-based procedures. · Performing skin rejuvenation treatments. · Administering platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments where authorized. · Providing body contouring and non-invasive cosmetic procedures. · Managing wound care for cosmetic and reconstructive surgery patients. Assisting Physicians and Surgeons · Assist dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and cosmetic physicians during procedures. · Prepare treatment rooms and required equipment. · Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures. · Ensure sterile technique and infection prevention standards. · Provide post-procedure support and care. Patient Education and Counseling · Explain treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes. · Educate patients on pre-treatment and post-treatment care. · Provide skincare recommendations and maintenance plans. · Counsel patients regarding realistic expectations. · Address patient questions and concerns professionally. Post-Procedure Care · Monitor patient recovery and treatment outcomes. · Scheduled body massages after aesthetic procedure. · Identify and manage minor complications within scope of practice. · Escalate concerns requiring physician intervention. · Schedule follow-up appointments and evaluations. · Maintain continuity of care throughout the treatment journey. Medication and Product Management · Prepare and administer prescribed medications. · Maintain inventory of aesthetic products and supplies. · Ensure proper storage and handling of medications and injectable. · Monitor expiration dates and stock levels. · Maintain accurate records of product usage. Infection Prevention and Safety · Follow hospital infection-control policies. · Maintain aseptic and sterile procedures. · Ensure safe operation of laser and aesthetic equipment. · Monitor compliance with safety regulations. · Report adverse events and complications appropriately. Documentation and Record Keeping · Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes. · Document assessments, procedures, outcomes, and follow-up plans. · Record consent forms and treatment photographs when applicable. · Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations. Quality Improvement and Professional Development · Participate in quality assurance activities. · Stay updated on new aesthetic treatments and technologies. · Attend training programs, workshops, and continuing education courses. · Assist in developing treatment protocols and patient care standards. Requirements · Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Registered Nursing (RN), or equivalent nursing qualification. · Additional certification or training in aesthetic medicine, cosmetic nursing, dermatology nursing, or plastic surgery nursing preferred. · Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with the relevant nursing regulatory authority. · Minimum of 3 years experience working in dermatology, plastic surgery, cosmetic medicine, or aesthetic nursing. · Hospital clinical experience required. · Experience with cosmetic procedures and patient consultations is advantageous. Clinical Skills · Patient assessment and clinical evaluation. · Injection techniques (where permitted). · Wound management and postoperative care. · Knowledge of skin anatomy and physiology. · Infection prevention and control. · Emergency response and patient monitoring. Technical Skills · Operation of laser and aesthetic equipment. · Electronic medical record documentation. · Photography documentation for treatment outcomes. · Product and inventory management.
