The Role As our Senior Business Developer, you will lead efforts to identify new market opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth across our solar solutions and distribution channels. You will be instrumental in expanding our footprint within the renewable energy industry and helping deliver sustainable energy solutions to businesses across South Africa. Requirements Identify and develop new business opportunities within the solar energy sector, including B2B partnerships, distributor networks, and medium to large-scale projects. Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to meet and exceed revenue targets. Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, EPC contractors, installers, and key industry stakeholders. Conduct market research to track industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities. Lead negotiations and close high-value contracts for solar products, systems, and distribution partnerships. Collaborate with marketing, technical, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution and high client satisfaction. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities. Prepare compelling business proposals, reports, and sales forecasts for senior leadership. What We’re Looking For 5+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management. Experience in solar energy, renewable technology, electrical distribution, or related sectors is highly advantageous. A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving growth. Strong existing network within the solar or energy industry (preferred). Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and within a team. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field (advantageous but not essential). Willingness to travel when required.
