Job description

We are seeking a Facility Officer to support the maintenance and upkeep of the organisation’s buildings and infrastructure, ensuring a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment. Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate all installations (plumbing, HVAC, electricity etc.) and refurbishments Manage the organization’s facilities and equipment Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards Inspect building structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs Supervise all facilities staff, external contractors and ensure they meet/exceed work expectations Manage staff accommodation and organization’s fleet Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc. Ensure facility insurance coverage is up to date for all assets Plan for the future by forecasting the facility’s upcoming needs and requirements Perform facility analysis and forecasting Develop worksheet for predicting maintenance Create weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance reports Work with the Operations and Facility Manager to ensure compliance of all statutory requirements by the Federal Government Perform all other tasks as assigned Requirements BSc. in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field At least 2 years’ experience as a Facility Officer Professional, HSE certification is an advantage Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities Proficient in MS Office Knowledge of basic accounting, risk management, finance principles and familiar with cost-comparative analysis Knowledge of legal guidelines for security, public health and safety Good reporting skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional organisational and leadership skills Good analytical/critical thinking skills and strong negotiation skills Good problem-solving skills, high accuracy and attention to detail Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently Ability to carry out basic First Aid treatment Must demonstrate confidentiality and sound judgement, must be proactive, honest and have integrity Ability to work with team members to achieve goals Must be willing to work long hours, be responsive and work under pressure Must have ability to navigate stressful situations
