Job description
About Overwatch Mission Critical Overwatch is a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business (SDVOB) certified through the National Veterans Business Development Council (NVBDC), offering construction professional services, talent acquisition, and general contractor services for the mission-critical infrastructure industry. Our mission is the construction and management of state-of-the-art data centers with the precision and reliability this industry demands. From high-end engineers to seasoned professionals, we deploy the people you need to get your data center off the ground. At Overwatch, it's more than a job. It's a purpose.
The OFE Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery and installation of owner-furnished equipment within a data center construction project. This role requires a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, supply chain management, and construction processes.
Pre-Construction
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive tracking system: Create and manage a robust tracking system for all owner-furnished equipment (OFE) and long-lead equipment (LLE). This includes monitoring delivery schedules, managing submittals, and coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and installation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with the Lead Project Manager, Regional Supply Chain Management (RSCM) team, General Contractor (GC), and other stakeholders to align equipment deliveries with the construction schedule. Participate in meetings, provide updates, and communicate potential risks and delays proactively.
- Review and analyze project documentation: Thoroughly review project documents, including purchase orders (POs), statements of work (SOWs), and contracts, to identify potential issues, scope gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct site assessments: Visit the construction site to assess site conditions, identify potential challenges, and ensure that site requirements are communicated to suppliers and
- vendors.
- Support the development of pre-purchase specifications: Assist in the development of clear and concise pre-purchase specifications for LLE to ensure that all equipment meets project requirements.
Construction
- Manage vendor relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure timely delivery of equipment. Conduct regular meetings to review progress, address concerns, and maintain alignment with project schedules.
- Oversee equipment deliveries: Coordinate and oversee the delivery and installation of OFE and LLE, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Track and resolve issues: Proactively identify and track issues related to OFE and LLE, such as quality concerns, logistics challenges, and potential delays. Work with stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate factory visits: Schedule, organize, and attend Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and Factory QA/QC visits as requested by the Owner's team.
- Manage documentation: Maintain accurate records of all OFE and LLE related documentation, including delivery schedules, invoices, and inspection reports.
Closeout
- Verify equipment installation: Conduct thorough inspections to verify that all OFE and LLE has been installed correctly and according to project specifications.
- Coordinate equipment handover: Work with stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of OFE and LLE to the operations and maintenance teams.
- Gather and submit documentation: Collect and submit all required closeout documentation, including warranties, as-built drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Support project closeout: Assist the Lead Project Manager and other stakeholders in completing all project closeout activities related to OFE and LLE.
OFE Coordinator Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing OFE and LLE within a data center construction environment.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and critical systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using project management and tracking tools.
Communication and Reporting The OFE Coordinator will provide regular updates to the Lead Project Manager and other stakeholders on the status of OFE and LLE. This includes:
- Weekly progress reports summarizing key activities, accomplishments, and potential issues.
- Participation in project meetings to provide updates and discuss OFE and LLE related topics.
- Timely communication of any potential risks or delays that could impact the project
- schedule.
Continuous Improvement The OFE Coordinator will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of OFE and LLE management processes. This includes:
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Developing and implementing standardized tools and templates for tracking and managing OFE and LLE.
- Collecting and analyzing lessons learned to enhance future project performance.
Driver’s License Requirement: For roles that require on-site presence or travel between work locations as an essential function of the position, candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the role and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable laws.
Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment This position operates primarily in an active data center construction environment, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work settings. The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a dynamic environment that includes ongoing construction activity and evolving site conditions.
The work environment includes areas and temporary structures owned, leased, or controlled by third parties over which Overwatch may have limited or no control. Because the project remains under construction, certain areas of the site — including access routes, staging zones, and temporary structures — may not yet be fully ADA-compliant until construction is complete or those third-party areas are finalized.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in and around active construction areas, which may include unfinished buildings, temporary field offices, staging areas, and partially completed infrastructure. These locations may contain uneven surfaces, limited accessibility, and other conditions typical of construction projects prior to final completion. Overwatch does not control and cannot modify accessibility conditions within areas, facilities, or temporary structures owned or managed by third parties.
Reasonable Accommodation: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position, provided such accommodations do not create safety hazards, impede essential mobility within active work zones, or require modification of facilities not owned or controlled by Overwatch.
Benefits: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Relocation assistance is available to support candidates transitioning to the location.
OVERWATCH is committed to creating a diverse work environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. OVERWATCH considers candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.
