Job description
KIOS Foundation (KIOS) funds the human rights work of local organisations operatingin South Asia, East Africa and Ukraine, and raises awareness of their work. KIOS was established in 1998 by eleven Finnish organisations, and its activities are funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and EU funding.We are currently seeking an
**Adviser**
The Adviser manages KIOS funding allocated to organisations conducting human rights work in KIOS programme countries and participates in the development of programmes funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. In addition, the Adviser contributes to the programmes PMEL work together with a Senior Adviser. The role includes regular communication with grantee organisations, supporting them, and monitoring the use of grants. The work may also include similar tasks in programmes funded by other donors, as well as supporting KIOS communications and advocacy work.
The employment begins on 1 September 2026 or at another separately agreed time, is full-time and permanent. The position is based in Helsinki but may involve travel to KIOS programme countries. Salary is determined according to the collective agreement for social services organisations (Wellbeing Sector), demand level 5, and KIOS salary system (approximately 3,700 euros).
To successfully perform in this role, we expect you to have:
- A relevant Masters degree
- Knowledge of human rights and an interest in promoting them
- Familiarity with development cooperation
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in programme or project management and NGO work
- Experience and skills in team work
- A proactive approach to work
- Excellent English language skills
- Strong expertise in results-based management
In addition,we value

- Good Finnish language skills and other language skills (Ukrainian, French)
- Experience in preparing successful funding applications
