Job Description
- Provide L2 support for middleware platforms across Production, UAT, and DR environments.
- Perform incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and issue resolution within defined SLAs.
- Support IBM API Gateway / API Connect, Kong Gateway, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM MQ and NGINX environments.
- Monitor middleware health, performance, availability, and capacity.
- Support API lifecycle management, deployments, routing, authentication, throttling, and integrations.
- Troubleshooting ESQL, message sets, and integration flows.
- Deep understanding of messaging concepts (queues, topics, channels, persistence, transactions).
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates, security configurations, and load balancer integrations.
- Support middleware deployments on Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Participate in DR drills, platform upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare SOPs, operational documentation, and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, DevOps, and Application teams.
Knowledge & Experience Qualifications skills
- Experience: 4–7 years managing and supporting enterprise middleware platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, Azure, IBM API Connect, IBM MQ or middleware technologies (preferred).
Required Skills
- API gateway and integration platforms: IBM API Connect / IBM API Gateway, Kong Gateway, IBM MQ and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
- NGINX administration and reverse proxy management.
- Container platforms: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Authentication and security: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and JWT; SSL/TLS certificate management.
- Networking: HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancers.
- Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Azure Monitor.
Good to have skills
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale production environments.
- Exposure to Azure Cloud services and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
What Success Looks like?
- Business-critical middleware platforms (IBM API Gateway, Kong, IBM ACE, IBM MQ, NGINX, AKS) remain highly available and stable.
- Production incidents are managed independently and resolved within defined SLAs, with effective RCA reducing recurrence.
- Complex integration and API issues are resolved with minimal escalation and business disruption.
- DR drills, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities are completed smoothly across Production, UAT, and DR.
- SOPs, operational documentation, and knowledge articles are accurate, current, and shared across teams.
