Religious Education Coordinator

Job Title: Religious Education Coordinator Location: Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base, Germany Job Type: Part-Time

Position Summary: The Religious Education Coordinator will direct, advise, coordinate, and administer the Protestant Religious Education program for the Geilenkirchen Protestant Community. The Coordinator will work closely with the Protestant Chaplain, Installation Chaplain, chapel staff, volunteers, families, and program participants to support religious education activities, curriculum planning, volunteer coordination, chapel events, administrative documentation, and program continuity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate Protestant Religious Education activities for the Geilenkirchen Protestant Community.
• Work with the Protestant Chaplain on curriculum, schedules, programs, and chapel needs.
• Support programs such as children’s classes, youth activities, adult studies, Vacation Bible School, Advent/Christmas, and Easter events.
• Help recruit and coordinate volunteer teachers and assistants.
• Attend RE classes, Sunday activities, meetings, and special events as needed.
• Maintain attendance records, calendars, announcements, and required documentation.
• Submit facility requests and help ensure chapel spaces and equipment are secured after activities. Qualifications:
• Familiar with Protestant worship and religious education programs.
• Fluent in English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Able to work respectfully in a multicultural military chapel environment.
• Must complete required background check and base access requirements.
• Military chapel experience is preferred. Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education, Theology, Religious Studies, or related field preferred. Relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
