Who You Are

Reporting to the VP, Treasury, and People & Culture. This is an exciting and truly unique career opportunity for a passionate HR professional who truly thinks differently. As the HR operations anchor for our Sri Lanka office, you will serve as a key point of contact for local employees while providing administrative and operational support to the global People & Culture team. You will be responsible for ensuring HR processes run smoothly at the local level from onboarding and compliance to employee relations and HRIS data integrity while supporting global HR initiatives and culture programs.

What You Will Do

HR Administration — Global & Local

  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with both local and global standards.
  • Prepare and manage employment contracts, offer letters, amendments, confirmation letters, and termination documentation for Sri Lanka employees.
  • Support the global People & Culture team with document management, HR template maintenance, policy distribution, and acknowledgment tracking.
  • Administer and track employee leave, attendance, and absence records in accordance with Sri Lanka labour law and company policy.
  • Liaise with local legal and statutory bodies as required, including management of EPF/ETF contributions and labour department filings.
  • Support the preparation of HR reports and people metrics dashboards for the global People & Culture team, contributing to data accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits benchmarking data collection for the Sri Lanka market to support global compensation review cycles.
  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing administration of HRIS systems and other HR platforms, including data entry, audits, and user support.
  • Conduct periodic HRIS audits to ensure data integrity and system accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient HR documentation and filing system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance at all times.
  • Coordinate and administer employee recognition programs, both locally and in alignment with global initiatives.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and people-related concerns, providing guidance and escalating matters to the global People & Culture team when appropriate.
  • Support managers and employees with HR policy interpretation and ensure consistent application of company policies within the Sri Lanka office.
  • Maintain awareness of changes to Sri Lanka employment legislation and proactively flag compliance risks to the Director, People & Culture.
  • Assist with documentation and tracking performance management activities, including performance improvement plans and probationary reviews.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding for new Sri Lanka hires, including preparation of employment documentation, scheduling of orientation and training, and completion tracking.
  • Coordinate IT setup, systems access, and equipment provisioning for new hires in collaboration with Jolera HQ and the local IT team.
  • Maintain the onboarding tracker to ensure all required documentation, training, and system access steps are completed within defined timelines.
  • Be instrumental in processing bimonthly payroll inputs for employees in coordination with Jolera Finance, including new hire additions, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.
  • Assist in overseeing benefits administration for employees, including enrollment, changes, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support offboarding processes, including coordination of exit documentation, final pay calculations, and equipment returns.
  • Ensure personnel files and employment records are maintained in accordance with applicable legal retention requirements.

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Coordinate local culture and engagement activities, including internal events, recognition moments, and team celebrations, in alignment with the global HR calendar.
  • Act as a local champion for global People & Culture initiatives, ensuring Sri Lanka employees feel connected to the broader Jolera community.
  • Support the administration and communication of employee engagement programs, surveys, and follow-up action plans.
  • Coordinate general office administration activities related to employee experience and workplace operations, providing support to employees and leadership as required.

Qualifications

  • Must reside in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related fields.
  • 3–5 years of relevant HR administration experience, preferably within a company of 100+ employees.
  • Solid knowledge of Sri Lanka labour law and statutory requirements, including EPF, ETF, and related compliance obligations.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Humi, Workable, or equivalent); comfortable with system administration and data entry.
  • Experience supporting a remote, international, or distributed team is a strong asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to communicate effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and service-oriented approach to HR work.

Work Arrangement & Availability

  • This position requires full-time onsite attendance at the Sri Lanka office, five (5) days per week.
  • The incumbent is expected to work a schedule that ensures meaningful overlap with North American business hours to effectively support global People & Culture operations and stakeholders.
  • Occasional flexibility in working hours may be required to participate in meetings and support business activities across multiple time zones.
