About the role
We’re looking for a driven and hands-on Area Lead to take ownership of agent performance, customer experience, and sales growth within your assigned region. This role plays a critical part in expanding our footprint by building high-performing teams, strengthening agent capability, and identifying new market opportunities.
What you’ll be doing
Drive sales growth and brand presence
- Execute sales and growth strategies across your region
- Lead activations and support marketing campaigns on the ground
- Represent and uphold the Mukuru brand in all interactions
- Engage customers and provide product guidance and support
Lead and support agent teams
- Manage and support team leaders and field agents to achieve targets
- Conduct site visits and audits to ensure quality and compliance
- Address escalations and resolve operational challenges
- Work closely with HR and management on team-related matters
Build and develop agent capability
- Identify and recruit new agent opportunities within your territory
- Support onboarding, system setup, and training delivery
- Upskill agents through ongoing coaching and performance feedback
Monitor and improve performance
- Track individual and team performance against targets
- Lead weekly performance discussions and team engagement sessions
- Coach teams toward achieving stretch goals and improved productivity
Manage marketing and operational support
- Ensure availability and distribution of marketing materials
- Maintain stock of branded collateral and support campaign execution
What you need to succeed
Qualifications & experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) required
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate advantageous
- At least 1 year of experience in a sales or field-based role
- Experience in financial services or training environments is a plus
Knowledge & skills
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles
- Familiarity with customer onboarding and KYC processes
- Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to analyse performance and drive improvements
