About the role

We’re looking for a driven and hands-on Area Lead to take ownership of agent performance, customer experience, and sales growth within your assigned region. This role plays a critical part in expanding our footprint by building high-performing teams, strengthening agent capability, and identifying new market opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

Drive sales growth and brand presence

  • Execute sales and growth strategies across your region
  • Lead activations and support marketing campaigns on the ground
  • Represent and uphold the Mukuru brand in all interactions
  • Engage customers and provide product guidance and support

Lead and support agent teams

  • Manage and support team leaders and field agents to achieve targets
  • Conduct site visits and audits to ensure quality and compliance
  • Address escalations and resolve operational challenges
  • Work closely with HR and management on team-related matters

Build and develop agent capability

  • Identify and recruit new agent opportunities within your territory
  • Support onboarding, system setup, and training delivery
  • Upskill agents through ongoing coaching and performance feedback

Monitor and improve performance

  • Track individual and team performance against targets
  • Lead weekly performance discussions and team engagement sessions
  • Coach teams toward achieving stretch goals and improved productivity

Manage marketing and operational support

  • Ensure availability and distribution of marketing materials
  • Maintain stock of branded collateral and support campaign execution

What you need to succeed

Qualifications & experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) required
  • Diploma or Advanced Certificate advantageous
  • At least 1 year of experience in a sales or field-based role
  • Experience in financial services or training environments is a plus

Knowledge & skills

  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles
  • Familiarity with customer onboarding and KYC processes
  • Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to analyse performance and drive improvements
