- Application of Technical Knowledge
- Technical Specialist often work with engineers and other professionals to implement designs, plans, or solutions in real-world environments. They may be responsible for interpreting designs and applying them using industry-specific tools and techniques.
- Applying theory to practice bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that theoretical designs or concepts are turned into functional systems, processes, or products.
- Research and Development
- Conducting research: Technical Specialist may be involved in research projects to explore new technologies, methods, or systems. They apply scientific and technical knowledge to identify innovative solutions to technical problems.

- Design modifications or upgrading existing designs or systems to improve performance, safety, or functionality. They ensure that modifications meet operational requirements and industry standards.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Creating documentation like procedure, BKM, troubleshooting guide and manual.
- Data analysis on performance data, generate reports, and present findings to engineer recommending improvements or adjustments.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensuring standards in maintaining quality control ensure that systems, products, or processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Continuous monitoring systems over time, using their expertise to adjust or recalibrate as necessary to maintain compliance and operational efficiency, identify potential risks or issues and proactively mitigate them.
- Team Coordination
- Work closely with equipment engineers, process engineer and other specialists to ensure the success of projects, communicating technical details and progress updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Resource management of materials, tools, and equipment required for a project or daily operation and ensure their optimal use.
- Training and Development
- Training others: Technical Specialist may be responsible for training junior staff, technicians, or new team members on complex technical concepts, equipment, or procedures.
- Professional development: They keep up with advancements in their field and may take part in ongoing education, certifications, or workshops to enhance their skills and stay current with technological developments.
